Wild dogs 2

By ColleenA
Wow....thank you for your response to my/and our rangers images of the wild dogs yesterday. I was also blown away by the awards....8 of them...
... Thank you to Peter (ddolfelin), Lynette (Lynniesefforts), Dave (Ugly). Ron (Rontear), Mike Smith, Lillian, Christine D and Cathy (Holmewood)....all much appreciated.

As you loved the dogs so much I though I would share some more of the dogs....the lead image is my favourite of the pack, she has beautiful markings. They have such dark really dull eyes. The versions are a mix of at rest, fighting and hunting. Again taken with my Coolpix before I joined epz a year ago
It was such a treat to spend an hour with the pack just observing their interaction with each other. They lay in small groups together, the youngsters played and had a fight or two. They groomed each other and generally just chilled. As soon as the Alpha pair got up they quickly gathered into an organised group...the stronger hunters in the front and the kids at the back. they immediately went into hunt mode...alert and skillful. We followed them for a while it was so interesting, sadly they missed their prey...
Have a nice day GrinGrinGrin

Lovely capture of all variants.
A stunning set of images, Colleen. Congrats on your well deserved UAs.
I remember hearing that the success of wild dogs is their ability to hunt as a pack in a strategic way which nearly always guarantees success, Similar to wolves, I believe.

A great set Colleen. The ones we have here - in the wildlife park - would appear to be smaller than wild ones. They are definitely smaller than a German Shepherd - and yes quite thin and wiry too. Smile

They are beautiful dog's but their ears are so funny and cute, it look's like someone has stuck them on and their white tail doesn't match the rest of their lovely bodies. Delightful capture's.Smile

Their coloured coats are amazing and I do like V8 best from this set.
I was interested in your reply yesterday about the relationship between the rangers and the animals.
Nevertheless I think the rangers are very brave.
