A Medieval cobble stoned lane

By ColleenA
We have travelled from Paris to Avignon by train then we drove 35 kms to this charming ancient village called Uzes.
This is the lane we are staying in, I wanted to sample how the local villagers live so we are staying in a cobbled lane...one comes to a double entrance door which leads into a grand 17th Century stone building with a vaulted foyer and central courtyard and turret. The turret is the part we live in for the next 8 days.
The lane has two restaurants and a bakery a few steps away....their baguettes and pastries will be my downfall.
The village is steeped in history with beautiful buildings ...
The versions are more of the lane...our apartment has blue shutters ...also some images shot with my phone of the vaulted foyer.
Many thanks for your continued support and for the user awards, all much appreciated
Have a great day

Utterly charming and what a great idea to stay in a place like this.
Especially like V6 and V7.
Fresh bread from the bakery plus the pastries - m-m-m-m that sounds perfect.

We stayed in an Airbnb in Uzes in 2015 and loved the little laneways and history. If you get the chance, get the local bus to Nimes - another interesting town/city to wander around. A visit to Pont du Gard is worth a visit too. Enjoy your stay.

Great to see these lesser known streets and lanes Colleen, it looks like a delightful place to stay. But yes, the smell of the bakery would have me almost running towards it Tongue
