These are Tawny frogmouths ...found throughought Australia. They are nocturnal feeding at night on insects, worms, slugs and snails. Small mammals, reptiles, frogs and small birds are also eaten. During the day they perch on a tree branch, often low down and camouflaged as part of the tree. They are silver grey in colour with streaked and mottled plumage...their eyes are yellow. They often sit with their heads looking upwards
