On a wing and a prayer

By ColleenA
A beautiful old Bentley with its wings on the bonnet.
Today I was almost killed waiting for a tram after physio. I was standing next to the tram pole looking at the timetable when I heard an almighty crash. I looked up to see a car flying towards me. I was frozen to the spot for a second then realised if I do not run with my new knee replacement and crutch I will surely die. I made it by a whisker. I could feel the steam from the radiator as she hit the pole next to me. People jumped out their cars to check if I was ok. An hour later I had been checked by paramedics and gave a Police report. I also called my knee surgeon and am going for an X-ray tomorrow then see him to see if I√‚íve strained anything.
So I reckon my guardian angel was watching over me today....hence my title
Versions are snaps of the car that almost hit me and pole I was standing next to.

So you'll be entering the hop, skip and jump in a few months, Colleen!

A scary day... I'm glad you're safe, and i hope that the incident hasn't set your recovery back at all.

I was sitting on a chair on the sidewalk getting checked by paramedics and he suggested I took a few photos in case I have future injuries.

There is nothing like a news story from " our reporter on the spot" Frightening experience but very glad to know that you are ok. Being able to record the aftermath takes a lot of courage. Hope all's well with your knee.

Well done for being able to avoid disaster. I do hope your new knee is OK. I do like the lead image here Colleen. The contrast between the warm foreground colours and the cold, out of focus background adds to the interest.

Oh my goodness Colleen, what a narrow escape. But, what a pro to make sure you got the photos.
Total admiration for you.
I hope this will not impact on your recovery too much.
And I almost forget; the Bentley lead picture is awesome. A gong for you and a virtual bunch of flowers.

Wow Colleen. Someone was looking out for you. And you still had the steadiness to take some pictures of the lousy drivers car. Love your wings image.

Terrific set with the Bentley wings (although a shame they no longer have the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot) and very well done for the other two shots, and for getting out of the way; glad you survived.

That could have been very nasty, but glad to hear you're ok. I hope your knee took this in its stride (no pun intended).

Love the lead ....the hood ornament withat bokeh'd background is very mesmerising. I think Rob was looking after you that day ....so glad you got out of the way. Much better to see the shots of the wayward car than interiors of your hospital room .
Best of luck with your knee!
Best regards
Walt
