The pouched bill

I always love the soft colours on a pelicans bill. They can be as long as 500mm. The bottom half of the bill is basically just a frame around the pouch and can hold between 13 and 17 litres of water. The bill has a hooked tip which is serrated to hold onto the slippery fish.
