You can do it.

By ColleenA
These little cygnets were having a diving lesson this week ...this was the last one to take the plunge. Took a lot of coaxing from the parents but eventually took the plunge.
You will notice that some of our swans wear neck identification collars. They are loose fitting and donít hurt them. The females have white collars and the males black. Itís part of a University study to follow the movements of our black swan population. We have about 150 swans on the lake.
The versions are more of this sweet family outing

How adorable. Whatever it is around the swans neck looks too tight. I hope it stretches when he swallows.

itís not tight. Their necks are extremely thin itís their feathers that make it look tight. It doesnít obstruct their feeding at all. In fact they slide up and down their necks.

Yes thatís exactly why I lead with it Fred. The others versions are just there to tell the complete story. I always without fail lead with my favourite on the odd occasions I load versions to tell a story.
A great capture of these cute little ones with their parents waiting patiently for them to brave the water

A charming set of images, Colleen, and they were all brave in the end.

I don't care what kind of study they are for, I don't like man's interference in the form of these collars, any more than I like other wild animals having to carry around horrid unnatural attachments.
