Good macro, nicely detailed
Depth Of Field is very small when getting close so I would suggest a smaller aperture & higher ISO
to get the beetles yellow feelers details sharper

No idea about its ID, stuggle to ID bugs in my own area. But this is a cracking macro, i find it hard to get DOF right on macro shots.

It's a Blister Beetle (Mylabris oculata) - beautifully caught!

Agree with Karen on the ID, ISO isn't so critical but a smaller aperture would have made improved the image a lot.

Thanks ... I googled the blister beetle to learn more about it, our ranger was correct, a big enough beetle is poisonous enough to kill people. The poison is very toxic and actually causes collapsed tissue in a human being. I am proud to say my photograph of the beetle is as good as the some of those featured on the web page I looked at.

A rather beautiful beetle, Colleen, but not a very pleasant one, very well captured. Carol
