Good morning, thanks for your great response yet again to my Wildlife series. A BIG thank you to Carol (Caziwinkles) for her UA
Today I thought I would show you a few images of Buffalo. He is my lead image because of his shadow for Saturday shadow day. They are the least interesting of the Big 5 but I love taking images of them. The younger buffalo in the herd are not normally aggressive but beware the older males who have been pushed out of the herd and forced to lead solitary lives until they eventually die. If you look carefully he has thousands of flies around him. This herd came down to our Waterhole at the lodge at lunchtime which is not a good time with the harsh light for photographs. The rest of the images are of the herd drinking. They were all taken from our deck in front of our bedroom suite. I have included one image taken on one of our game drives of a really grumpy buffalo, V4...you would not want to meet him alone in the bush on foot. Even his ears are all old and torn.
Have a great day

Superb images, Colleen, wouldn't want to meet one of them on a dark night in the bush Smile Carol

This is such a beautiful set it is hard to choose between them, the grumpy one is not beautiful but he is certainly imposing. We were always told by the local people that they were more afraid of meeting a buffalo in the bush than almost any other animal. Almost is the key word.
As to a dark night, Carol I wouldn't like to meet one of them at any time anwhere Grin Well, in a car built like a tank it could be ok. Tongue

Another fabulous set Colleen - why do I always think they look like they have elaborate hair styles? V5 slightly pips the others for me today as you have superb eye contact with most of the herd. Stunning.

cracking good set again Colleen I have two favourites to V4 because of the expression captured a mix of controlled enthusiasm and spontaneous indifference and v5 for the smiley and inquisitive way you have attracted them...also thanks for you comments on my UA thanks I thought it would provoke a laugh and some good comments and it did. Had to amend it today as Lin added her UA yesterday after I had uploaded the thanks

Not a beast to be messed with! The one in v1 looks particulary malevolant and looks as though it is about to charge you!!!
