Good morning...
Thank you for all your votes and comments....now you know what fynbos is and how beautiful the Cape is at this time of the year.
This morning my set is about the wildlife I saw in Hermanus. This little guy was sitting on this branch chirping away. I am not a bird photographer nore do I have the lens power but am quite chuffed with this. We also saw a troop of baboons on the way home, not a great pic as shot through the windscreen, we had cars behind us so could not stop or slow down. I wanted to share it anyway....

I am rather excited today, I am attending a 2 day National geographic photographic boot camp being held today and tomorrow at our beautiful Kirstenbosch botanical gardens. Rather expensive but hopefully worth it as I get to meet top photographers and learn from them. Its a mix of lectures and practical.
Have a great day, will catch up this eveningGrinGrinGrin

A cracking set of wonderfully interesting and very well observed and captured images Colleen. Image five is by far the best, and reminds me of the famous Johnny Cash song "I walked the line"

A fine varied set and of them all it's V 2 that takes up my attention as I think it is a hyrax.........and if so, I am always surprised when I recall that these creatures are closely related to elephants.
Anf great that you were able to capture a whale.

28 Sep 2013 - 10:30 AM

I was wondering what V2 was but think Ronnie has hit the nail on the head with his ID V1 maybe no power on you set up but a fine result Colleen also the line of baboons trooping home brought a smile, if you had not stopped to put on some make-up yesterday you might have beat to with the |UA awards on RonnAG's pic lol

Your bird image is excellent Colleen with the singing pose and sun from the side.
The baboons are amazing - too bad you couldn't stop for more.
The boot camp sounds wonderful.
We'll await the resultant images from all that knowledge you'll learn.

An interesting and eclectic set of images featuring the local wildlife, v5 is my favourite. I bet that gang of baboons are making their weary way home after a night of carnage in the local neighbhourhood!
