Thank you for all your support....and to Richard ( Dickspicks ) for his UA, really chuffed.
I had a wonderful weekend at the Bootcamp , the weather didn't play it's part, mostly cloudy and very windy. After 2 days I came away with a different viewpoint to nature. He started off by quoting Ansel Adams..."Their are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs"
He taught us a lot about Composition and that you should study your subject in detail otherwise your image will lack punch. To have the insight to notice and use all the elements in the scene in your viewfinder is the difference between a masterpiece and the bin.
He also taught us a lot about simplicity and negative space, as well as perspective.... but the thing that impressed me most is the way he looks at light......the single most important ingredient in just about every award winning image is the nature and quality of light. He taught us a lot about exposure and how and when to over or under expose. He also pushed us to set up the composition at the time and not to rely on cropping afterwards.
He taught us that images should tell a story, a good story teller knows what to include and what to leave out. Its all about making not taking good images....
The above image was taken with all the above things in mind.......
Have a nice day
