Good morning from a wet Manchester...we leave to fly home this evening after 31 days away. I have packed the sun in my suitcase already as Herman wants it back in SA.... I have had a wonderful time in the UK and met 4 wonderful epz'rs
Today's images are of the Victorian neo gothic Town hall in Manchester. It is one of the finest interpretations of Gothic revived architecture and dates back to 1868. The BBC services -State of play was filmed here as it resembles the Palace of Westminster....
I converted the main upload into mono as I loved the light on the tower and the wispy clouds,as well as the shadow of a cross on the tower.. A similar colour version follows..V3 is a bust of Sir John Barbirolli...the longest serving Conductor with the Halle orchestra. The ceilings were magnificent. I have included on of the grand staircase...the stair rises are very low and wide to allow the Victorian ladies in their long dresses to walk up the stairs in ease.
Have a great Monday....sadly the cricket will be washed out today...England saved by the rain
