I was saying to Ed {Glostopcat} how there was a dearth of butterflies up here, but this summer I have not seen that many bees, very few overflies and I have yet to see a ladybird.
Don't know id this is all to do with climatic change and the odd seasons we have experienced of late.
So you were fortunate in finding this gang, Kate, and you have done a fine job with each capture, and your presentation in this triptych form is so well handled.

A wonderful triptych of the gardeners best friend Kate, I could do with more of these at home and at my allotment. Some interesting points made by Ronnie, I too have seen very few hoverflies and bees particularly honeybees both in my garden and in the wider countryside. Butterflies too have been scarce until the good weather of the past few weeks when their populations have exploded!
