The train now departing

By colmar
Good Morning

Just a reminder , If any of you are in Folkestone on the 13th December we are at the harbour market drop by and say hello Smile it is our first foray into the marketplace and would like to see some of you Kent tog's Colin

Todays offerings are all shot from the rear cab of a train by Mari and tell a story from the city centre to the rural village train stations.

V1 is Leaving Victoria , V2 the Chelsea Bridge and V3 the almost silhouetted plane as it heads over the city towards Heathrow, v4 is a shot towards the city with the Thames in view v5 Housing estate with the towering cranes of dockland v6 The front portico of Battersea Power Station V7 is a view of the M20 as we reach the crossover into Kent v8 A mono of one of the houses near to the Hop farm v9 A almost abstract of foliage at West Malling and finally v10 as we leave and head further in towards the Kent coast.

We hope you have enjoyed looking at this train journey in pictures !

Camera hand held , please if you have the time look large it is I believe worth it. f11 and ctrl+ for window users Smile

Thanks for all the comments and votes on our Christmas wishes yesterday to epz'ers, we were sincerely grateful for all the extremely kind comment and best wishes and thank you all ! Colin and Mari.

Great shots from the back of a train, esp the industrial cranes & iconic Battersea P S. The b&w tones in image 8 are great, very dreamy.

Delighted to be click 30! A super set of images, just picking out a couple for comment; love V1 for the wonderfully curving tracks, V4 for the shapes of the buildings and their reflections and the colours in V9.

All very nice, good compositions. Some of these with the vanishing point (the tracks) would look great in mono too, with some upped contrast.

What a pleasant train journey you took us on Colin and Mari, thanks for sharing it with us. Surprised no reference by others to the plane overhead in V3, I think it's awesome!
Rgds., Jim
