Vitre Element !

By colmar
Good Morning

I am sorry to repeat myself but am sure some did not see the following posted yesterday, I work for Eurotunnel and on my blog of the 17th is the detail to book a £15 day return to celebrate their 15th birthday they asked us to pass to friends and family .... I have made many friends here so that is why I put it on here Smile

The scene in todays image is a quiet street overlooked by a small bridge, the scene captivated me as it looked so timeless... decided to attempt to recreate some art of similar scenes via elements and this is the result, look forward to any comment good or bad on the finished image.

Vitré (Breton: Gwitreg) is a commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in Brittany in north-western France.

Vitré, a sub-prefecture until 1926, is the seat of a canton of around 18,000 inhabitants (2006). It lies on the edge of Brittany, near Normandy, Maine, and Anjou. The town has been designated a ville d'art et d'histoire, a town of artistic and historic significance, by the Ministry of Culture in recognition of its rich cultural inheritance.

The city is located on the slopes of the Vilaine river, along an east-west geographic depression which the national railway on the Paris-Rennes route follows.

I always thought images transformed from photographs into "paintings" via software looked awful and were the pits (Yes I have produced them and still do) - until now. Fantabulous work, congratulations. The right original photograph, the right transformation and great skill. Superb. Have a miserly vote.

A wonderful image which I would love to hang on my wall Colin. It is one of the very few manipulations which I have seen that eally does work as a painting.
Re the £15 trip , when does the offer finish ? I could use my train pass to get me to the Euro Tunnel at a reasonable price and £15 is a must have.Could fit this in with a visit to our daughter in London..

Many thanks to you all for the comments and votes .... As for the technique .... elements 7 protect highlights and then pass through the artistic filter ... max the controls to desired effect and then back for noise reduction and framing ... then through noiseware for a final reduction, it works for some images and looks "the pits"

Good work with this, Colin. Your effective treatment gives the picture an "Old Masters" watercolour appearance.
Would have been good to have shown the original as a V2 to compare & better appreciate your changes.
