Famous Five

By conrad
There are no less than nineteen windpumps in Kinderdijk, and they're pretty close together, but only five of them are in a neat row. That makes these five quite famous, and much photographed. I've captured them several times already, but when I'm there, I can never resist trying it a different way, or trying a slightly different view.

No major manipulations here - apart from the usual slight tweaks, I only deepened the blue tones a little, and cropped the image to get a different format.

Comments and mods welcome, as always.

Nice shot, like the perspective of the windmills.

Like it - beautiful scene - tho I feel the large space to the right is not helpful

Thanks, guys!

Davie - Interesting you should say that. I thought of about three or four different ways to crop the image, and I came up with pros and cons for each and everyone of them - one being the one you mention. Wink I may try a different version as well. Or all of them. We'll see... Wink

I agree with the suggestions about the crop. Otherwise a wonderful and peaceful image. Well done.

This looks good to me Conrad, I like the way you have a few reeds on the right hand side of the frame. The clouds are just like cotton wool Smile

Looks like an interesting place to visit.

Thanks, Bill, Robert and Robbie!

Robbie, I think Ian (having been there) would agree! Wink

Looking at them side by side I think I prefer this one. It would be nice to see the windmills a little closer like the other one but this is better I reckon, on account of the reeds on the right.

Thanks, Shaks, I think I tend to agree with you.
