The 2011 EPZ Skye Meet is drawing to a close for me - I came with Ian and Robbie, and they're returning home today (I'll fly back from Liverpool tomorrow).
It's been a great week. I've enjoyed seeing the sights on Skye that were already familiar to me, I've enjoyed it even more that I've seen sights I hadn't seen before, including some off the beaten track.
It was great to renew old acquaintances, getting to know people I already knew a little better. And meeting someone new was nice, and making my personal acquaintance with someone I'd conversed with online but had never met as well.
And I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Jamie, who organised the meet, for giving us this chance. And of course the people who drove me around - Ian, Jamie, Pete, Stephen, Colin - without whom reaching photo locations wouldn't have been possible. And I'd like to thank the other participants for their good company, the photography tips, the help with scrambling over rocks and hiking over other kinds of rough terrain that I'm not used to. And also Ian and Robbie for both putting me up and putting up with me.
And while I'm at it, I want to thank Pete Bargh for setting up ephotozine and making meets like these possible, and for letting us teach one another how to do photography properly, and have some fun at the same time. And my parents for making all my experiences in this life possible. And ... er ... oh, but I think I'm getting carried away now.
Anyway. I had a great time. Thanks to everyone who facilitated that!
