Yesterday on my way back from a location in the southwestern part of the Netherlands, I had been hoping to take some photos of locations that I don't often get to see. But of course the sky went grey soon after I got in the car, and eventually it started to rain, at some point quite heavily.

And then I saw something I hadn't expected to see there, something I would normally have stopped to photograph, but didn't because it was raining cats and dogs: in an unexpected place (because bulb growing is mostly concentrated in another part of the country) I saw one bulb field after another, full of bright colours.

I was sorry about the bad weather that prevented me from taking the pictures I would otherwise have taken, but driving along a road amidst those glorious colours was a joy - those fields full of bright red, yellow and purple tulips were quite the sight to behold.

So ... no photo this time, but I did enjoy the drive!
