Stunningly Beautiful
26 Feb 2014 11:40AM Views : 697 Unique : 501People who've known me since my youth, will remember that I was a shy boy. Not exactly the bold type, if you know what I mean. And although I've developed since then, in some ways I still am that shy little boy. And I'm painfully aware of that again today.
I really like people photography, but I don't do a lot of it. And that's mainly due to being shy and afraid, I've concluded for myself. I've taken a course in portrait photography, I've shown that I can do it technically. But my downfall is in not daring to ask people to pose for me. I have plenty of ideas, I have a suitable lens and other kit that would be helpful, I just don't have any models.
I joined a models and photographers community, but haven't worked up the courage yet to ask models to join me for a shoot.
I've also taken my camera out on the streets, but I'm always afraid that people will respond negatively to me shooting them, although when I'm in a public place that should be perfectly acceptable.
And I come across plenty of people I'd love to ask for model shoots, but I just don't seem to be able to work up the courage to ask them.
Take this morning. The doorbell rang, and two ladies engaged me in a conversation about religion. One of them was ... yes, you guessed it, having read the title of this blog post: stunningly beautiful! Could have been a model. Should have been a model.
Would I have loved to have asked her for a photo shoot? Absolutely! Did I do it?
I'lll let you guess...
