Three Different Takes

This time three different versions of the same image.

I came across a few more apps, and although there are overlaps with others I already have, I decided to give After Focus a go. It offers the possibility of deciding about the focus after you've taken the image. And it offers two ways of determining what's going to be in focus and what's not, an automatic way, and a manual option.

For the automatic version you draw a line on or around the object, and a line to indicate where the background has to start. A few more settings, and off you go.

The result isn't perfect, at least not with the automatic option (maybe I should have gone for the manual option), but it definitely has potential.

The app also has a few filters, but not quite as many as apps like Snapseed. It does have an unusual choice, though, in that it offers a cross-processing filter.

Anyway, here are three different versions of the same shot - from top to bottom:

1. The original, straight from the iPhone, re-sized only.

2. The same image, but processed with another app - Lo-Mob, if I remember correctly.

3. The same image, but processed with After Focus.

Well that is soooooo spooky. I have four different shots to upload of the same scene taken today with my iPhone and using hipstamatic. My intention is to have each pic in a different quadrant.

I'd best get cracking.

The same scene? But in a completely different location - different country, even - no doubt. Interesting, will have to have a look.

Precise, not pedantic. Wink

2's nice, 3's just an experiment.
