Traveling Light

Having sold all of my heavy photo kit a few years ago due to worsening back problems, and having replaced it with lighter MFT kit, the natural thing to do was to also sell off my two rather heavy tripods, a Manfrotto, and one of the bigger Velbon models.

But that left me without, and although I've hardly done any low light photography since then, I was beginning to feel like I could do with a tripod again. So, not really having any budget for it, I went on eBay to see what I could find. And although I'm an experienced eBay user, and a big fan of it, my finds still positively surprised me: you can really get something for almost nothing.

I ended up with what for me is probably the bargain of the year, a hardly used smaller Velbon model with quick release plate and a travel case for the incredible price of 3.20! The case alone is worth more than that, so it was a great find.

Having also replaced my P size filters with A now, I think I'm ready to try some sunset landscapes again. (I'll leave the sunrise ideas until that time of year when the sun rises at a more pleasant time of the morning.) Smile
