Giver of Light

By conrad
Inspired by the works of Robert & Shana Parkeharrison - but not meant to be an exact imitation of their style, just my own take on it.

Since creating this kind of image is rather new to me, please let me know if you feel I could have done anything better (I'm sure there are several things you can come up with...). So - all comments and mods welcome!

Thanks for looking,

Conrad

Hi conrad Very unusual work, like it!

You commented on my Adrift shot. You are right the boat is added in. I wanted to see if this would be noticed. I think I will edit the detail on it.

Thanks for looking

Thanks, Shane - nice to finally read someone's opinion. It seems people are not in a commenting mood today. Thanks for giving me your opinion!

And thanks for the HC, Pete!

It wasn't complicated at all, Cole. Shot as normal (to include myself, I had to choose between self-timer or the use of an assistant, and since I had my wife there, I chose the latter). Added sphere in PhotoShop. Applied a few lighting effects. Converted to sepia and added grain.

Very striking indeed, Conrad. I think the composition is spot on - I don't think it would work as well if the figure occupied more space in the frame. Great tones and atmosphere. A well deserved HC too - congratulations. Smile

Thanks, Pete and Stu!

Pete, quite right - I did some experimenting with distance etc. and finally decided that this one worked best.

A very good take on Parkeharrison, nicely done. The grain is just perfect for that oddness typical of a shot like this. Very well done.
