Dancing on the Waves

By taggart
Dancing on the Waves
a sculpture by Mimi Sammis

For Fun Friday:
After dinner, one evening last week, we left the dishes and rushed to the Narragansett Beach in Rhode Island. This area, badly damaged by Hurricane Sandy, now seems to have recovered remarkably well. Seems there was a grand party and live music going on at the Coast Guard House to add to this evening's pleasure.

This sculpture, however was totally destroyed--what you see is a small mock up sitting on a rather battered plinth. I spent some QT with my 10 year old grandson, showing him how to get this picture-- He took it all seriously and did quite well--- This one is my version. We waited for a real sunset but it never happened! Still a fun time.

Sending a huge thank you to Zoran for his UA for The Lilies.

A great shot, Jenn. It's so sad that Sandy destroyed the original statue.

How sad that the original was destroyed - the replacement looks good in silhouette nevertheless.
Lovely to have shared this with your grandson.
