The memorial for MLK and the civil rights movement in the US was opened in 2011, after being 20 years in the making.
Its official address, 1964 Independence Avenue, S.W., commemorates the year the Civil Rights Act of 1964 became law.
The location is at the tidal base and almost forms an entrance to this area, which is famous for the cherry trees and leads to the Jefferson Memorial. It is very impressive and poignant and I really liked it.
