Glad to see you are still progressing with your flower images. I would suggest that for these type of images you use manual focusing and exposure, using the very excellent 'live view' mode that you have on your camera is a good way to go. Just remember that using a black background will require under exposing and a white one over. If it looks good in the live view you wont be far off.
