Nice warm colours and lovely reflections Steve, is this one of the ones that you say came out a little dark?

Are the slides dark when you look at them, or is it a scanning problem? Also, I personally tend to use some ND Grads say 2 to 3 stops(0.6 or 0.9), on the sky, which helps to balance out the bright sky and the darker foreground, which means more foreground detail. Also I tend to use the 'matrix' metering to meter the whole scene on my Nikons, not centre weighted or anything like that. Just some ideas, as on this it appears that your camera has metered the bright orange in the centre perfectly, leaving the rest dark.

Thanks Miles, the slides themselves are dark but will have to check them with another scanner to see, do compensate by adding a few secs to what the metering says but i'm wondering if i messed up there and underexposed but also i did use another lab this time so there are too many variables involved to really say whether it was me or not. Other shots from my trip are dark but a lot are fine though, the mind boggles. Steve.

Superb shot, Steve!

Will look through your PF and click as appropriate on what I've missed over the last couple of weeks, but obviously can't comment on everything! If you get phantom clicks, then it's me!
