another coast shot using 3 layers to get lighting and focus right , something not right with this shot , think maybe altering shutter time to expose different areas of shot is causing to much difference in water blur , will try altering to iso setting to get different effect next time , any advise on putting this type of 3 layered shot together would be great , thanks for taking a look , Kel

Agree the clouds are incredible, but its the light in the light house that draws you in. Peter.

You are perfectly right about the different exposure times messing about with the blur. This is clearly apparent in the ebb and flow, however that slight abnormality is outweighed by the beauty which you have captured in the sky, and the light coming from the Lighthouse. The culmination of the exposures has also resulted in a wonderfully shaped and quite strange cloud formation which is quite superb Kel.

Nathan puts it eloquently as ever. Thinking about the issues with blending the different shutter speeds, your ISO suggestion should produce a more natural result than this. If you ever buy that 24-70 lens then you may not need to bracket anyway as at f/11 @ 24mm the hyperfocal distance will be achievable in a single shot, then it's only about balancing the contrast with an ND grad.
