motorway sunset

motorway sunsetVery effective. My recommendation as you ask for it, would be to have shot lower. Where the top cloud comes in from the left, should be the top of your image. The different colour of sky above that line of cloud looks almost out of place for me. Ryan

Late Summer

Late SummerThe weather is perfect, but I feel this shot is lacking something. Picking your spot a little better, to give the viewer some interest in the foreground would certainly help. I'd also look to give a little less sky, crop the piece of cliff on the right out and straighten the horizon out. Hope this helps. Ryan

Daddy's Hands

Daddy's HandsThis is a lovely, touching shot that has been treated superbly. It works great in mono and I dont think you would have had the same impact in full colour. The only thing I would change here is to darken the background a little more. I'm assuming what I can see in the bottom left is the father sat down and thats his jeans? I think this would be a perfect image with the baby and hands seemingly floating in the middle of a black box. Amending your use of DOF having done that, so that the whole image was sharp, as opposed to the just the centre of the image would also be something I would try. It's all experimenting, but the image is very good without doing anything with it, could just be made even better with a little tweaking in my opinion. Hope this helps. Ryan

Lilly Stamen close up

Lilly Stamen close upLovely colour and detail. Personally I dont think I would have cropped it so tight... try leaving the whole flower in next time, right to the tips of the petals. My only other piece of advice would be to pick the angle or time better, so as to make the most of the light available. This would look nicer still had it either all been in the sun/all in the shade. Hope this helps. Ryan

GotchaIt's a shame that you've focused on the water and not the fish, otherwise this could have been a good unusual shot. Next try cropping a little tighter, so as to emphasise the fish as the main subject... and also check to see you have focused where you wanted to focus. Hope this helps. Congratulations on a successful fishing trip though! Lovely little mirror.
