Caught Ball Watching...

This is a photo taken at my local football club Banbury United, at their Spencer Stadium, in a match vs league rivals Bedford Town.

The player seen is their promising young left back (who was actually in all my classes at school-lol) Tommy Kinch. He has been captured holding off the challenge as the ball bounces back up from a skiddy surface.

Interesting to see how focussed he is on the ball. Sadly that's not something I can say about this photograph.
I'm trying to see if you've focussed on the wrong area but, frankly, I can't find any point of focus in the image.

One to try again with a little more care IMHO

It's a great action shot, but the players and ball have moved a bit since you focussed - were you in single shot or AI-Servo mode? The AI-Servo mode seems to work better for sports photos I think as it tracks the focal point, and you get lots more shots to choose from in the end Smile
