Highland ingenuity in action. Skerra, a township (a smattering of crofts) in Sutherland on the north coast of Scotland, had no bus service. The local authority however provided a bus shelter but still no service. Sheep, in need shelter during lambing, were temporarily housed there in the Spring. Later in the year a local market garden enterprisingly utilised the shelter as a retail outlet and still no buses came.
This just illustrates the ingenuous mind and trusting nature of the Scottish Highlander as no sheep or produce was ever stolen from the shelter.
Thanks to Robert51 who reminded me that I too had an image of a multi purpose bus shelter.
Ian.
