I much prefer this - it's softer, gentler. The background is quietly mottled, and no distraction. The lady has soft, fly-away hair and it's horribly difficult to isolate that against a new background, hence your harsh edges yesterday.
Good to crop off the distracting hand too, and concentrate on the face.

I like this one much better, lovely soft portrait full of stories, her eyes show a sadness but are also very kind eyes. Lovely

This works so much better. The whole portrait is softer and more flattering and probably reflects the lady's character more truly.

I liked yesterday's upload, but this has improved it. There is nothing like the beauty of age - a lovely portrait.

Now that is a face that has a lot of memories, both good and bad, etched on it. Lovely shot of this old lady. Andy

Lots of character in that face... but also a sense of tranquility. I would probably increase the contrast a little myself, but a super shot all the same. Smile

Super soft and gentle portrait. Some one said to increase the contrast and I am not sure that I would - I think that may introduce tones that are too sharp again. Love it just the way it is.
