Hi, thanks for all your comments. I am trying to keep all images the same size for coherence in my pf and that makes cropping some of the elements, difficult but agree that a tighter crop would possibly improve the shot. In a larger higher res image the message is a bit clearer as well, tho I guess a little dodge and burn or similar might bring it out more :o)

Thank you :o) I tried to take images on Sunday that were simple yet I hoped would be evocative of Remembrance, trying to portray what it means to people. It is also quite hard not to "do" what others have already done and in most cases a heck of a lot better! I have uploaded some others to my flickr site but am still also editing the batch I took....

  • Water Lily Kew by Crazee1ady

Thank you :o) I was really lucky with the natural light coming thru the roof and open doorway, there were several blooms but this was closest to the edgeand provided me with a really nice angle, the background was mainly dark due to the reflection ofthe surroundings in the pond itself and a little adjustment took out the saturation on the left-hand side. If anyone is sad enough to want to see the original it is on my flikr lol.

TY for the comments you have been leaving on my pf :o) Am trying to improve my photography and its really encouraging when someone takes the time to comment, esp when you produce such stunning images as in your pf. This is gorgeous as are many of your other shots. Cheers

  • Minnis Bay by Crazee1ady

lol I never spotted the horizon was a tad off...was editing last night after getting home which goes to show its probs best left to the next day when youre not so tired from a day out....I think it looks worse than it actually is because of the beach huts and the left hand side being naturally higher than the sea and gently sloping down.... I'll correct it this side but won't bother with reuploading :o)

lovely shot, again bright colours an ideal spot for setting up your tripod. I find working with a tripod easier when using a remote release cable, do you have one? You might find that helps you notice a difference :o)

great beach huts.......I hate it when great places are sooooo far away from me tho! Mind you there are beach huts on the beaches where I could get to but none on stilts!

    TY all :o)
wyatturp........only a click and shoot that he gets frustrated with as he can't achieve what he would like with it. I would so love to be able to get him a decent seconhand digital SLR but at the moment money seems tied up to go in other directions From time to time when out I allow him to use mine (if you check my gallery there is a shot in there he took of a robin) but at 12 he is still so damn clumsy with it I have cold sweats eveytime he has it LOLOL

  • Portrait by bernard0368

brilliant moody shot, superb texture, only one thing I would pick up on (and I can't do portraits very well so feel free to ignore lolol) is the shine on the forehead distracts slightly. Love the image tho :o)

  • Arriva Bus by Crazee1ady

Probably not LOLOL. A friend of mine is a bus fan and coerced me to go snap taking.........our fav spot to stand usually was nabbed by Tamil protestors so we had to stand at a traffic island instead.....I wonder how many tourist shots we ended up in?

LOL I was walking up the path with my camera on the tripod still and switched off.........that'll teach me! Tho tbh from the quick flash I got I would have needed to change to a macro lens ........
