Graffitti for Arts Sake

By NDODS
Good Day to you all at ePz

Thank you all so very very much for taking the time out to view, comment and vote on my image 'Portaloo Sunset' which was uploaded yesterday.

A further thank you goes to: Lifesnapper (John), Kuipje (Jos), Jeddahknight111 (Robert), Deven (David), Capto (Ivor), Pamelajean (Pamela) and CarolAnnLauderdale (Carol) for their User Awards.

Today's image comes from my travels around the North East of England in June and was captured only a couple of minutes walk from the Sage which is located on the banks of the River Tyne at Gateshead.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day whatever you may be getting up to. As for me I shall be simply taking the day as it comes.

Regards as always Nathan GrinGrinGrin

Recognised it immediately. I love the fact that there are still corners like this, next door to all the slick modern glass.

pleased to be no 30 Nathan. Not easy to photograph each individual panel but you have chosen a good angle to include them all. Good process also helps to make this a very good image.

Lovely picture though not sure what the council would say = encouraging graffitti? But I like the shapes and colours. We are off to the tip yet again! Going to the charity shop with a pile of books too - went through the boxes ruthlessly!!

That is an amazing image, Nathan, and a wonderful photo. Some serious graffiti writers up there. Philadelphia used to be covered with graffiti, and the came up with an interesting solution. Originally founded by an entity called the Anti-Graffiti Network, later morphed into the Mural Arts Program, the graffiti taggers were turned into artists, with the result now being that we have about 3000 murals in Philadelphia, and very little graffiti. everywhere you go in the city, you see murals, many of them quite wonderful.

You have taken these murals at a good angle. They seem to be above average and very attractive. Good story from Peter too about graffitti morphing into murals in philadelphia. Refreshing to see these..'murals'. TG
