Accordian Man

By CSuk
A very bubbly street entertainer this gentleman; the reason why I noticed him. He struck the pose as soon as he saw me go to take the shot. Most of the accordian players etc. busking on the streets where I live are from the old eastern block countires and never even smile. Its probably why this gents hat was full of pound coins and not pennies like the others.

He's enjoying the attention, revelling in it! I agree the new wave of buskers are no fun to photograph (or to listen to, it's the same blasted tune all the time...) But old-style street entertainers are real performers, used to being watched and photographed. This is a lovely capture of communication and energy.

An excellent shot. The way he's "throwing shapes" he must think he's the Eddie Van Halen of the accordian.

What a character. Something you can see in the lines of his face. And a nice, colourful counterpoint to the images in the background.

Excellent shot.

Ps, that's praise in deed, coming from Moira. I love her street photography.

Pps - didn't know Dolce & Gabbana made accordians? (well it looks like D&G to me, upside down on the strap over his right shoulder).
