I like this you can almost smell it burning
Excellent capture. You've matched it well!
Very nice idea, looks good in mono.
Great lighting!!! (sorry it is N Years eve!!)
I can just imagine somebody holding that for you going 'ouch ouch ..hurry up' as the match burns down to their fingers!
This looks so simple - I'm sure it's not.
It's very good Cheryl, well done on the award. I think it would work in colour too with the flames against a dark background, maybe the burnt bit wouldn't show up as well then though.
Thanks Anne, actually I was holding the match myself, only burnt myself once waiting for the camera buffer to clear and not concentrating on the match.
In colour the flame looked too 'burnt' out and I liked the smoke trail better in b&w. Will try again in colour at some time when my fingers have recovered
If you did all this yourself Cheryl which I have read all the comments and you did, bravo...I can just imagine you telling the procurator fiscal when the house burnt down, 'my lord I was wanting a photograph of a match burning' LOL...good work and deserving of editor choice.
Thanks Doug, I did drop one match and wondered myself what the insurance claim might read like
Awesome shot. Black & white was a good choice.
excellent .. I like this ... P
Click! nice shot... I miss to put in my profile
