Fantastic detail in the owl and love the perch but I have to say the background looks a little unreal - it might well be like that but it has a too perfect feel to it ?

Thanks all.

I shall try to take the advice Wink Grin Not sure why, but I think the work situation has not helped in getting enthused about photography at the moment. Weather for Friday may make for an interesting day with some varied conditions.

Off to Shetland in a few weeks so really need to get some enthusiasm back else that may be a long and wasted trip Sad

Background is as taken. Let's face it if you were going to add a background you'd make sure it did not look as uniform as this, however, since I neither have the time, skill or inclination to add backgrounds I can confirm it is just a quirk of the angle and rather flat and uniform lighting on the grass behind the owl.

My goodness I'm surprised that you loose your enthusiasm for photography, thought it only happened to wannabees like me....... hang in there and once you're away from work and all that I'm sure the old fire will be rekindled again Smile
As for this shot, truly beautifully captured - Ina

This is amongst the most excellent bird images that I've seen on this site! Fantastic details, DOF, colours and composition! Absolutely top-notch!

Congratulations on your awards!
