I would not normally vote for a "bird" photo, they normally just do not give me the WOW factor, but this one is exceptional, a superb capture, and certainly worth a vote this evening, Well done.

A little bit of motion blur in wing feather...
Head eye are sharp and lock in place..
That is very difficult to do and get right...
You have and that makes this image a cracker...

Thanks all.

This one was taken around 1/500th of a second. Personally I am torn between the slow shutter speed and the medium shutter speed ones. What I have realised is that I don't like the shots when reviewing them if there is no movement in the wings. Much easier to get a sharper shot at a much higher shutter speed, but it loses the essence of movement.
