Red Splash

By csurry
Another collision from the red session.

Did not do any this last weekend, but I am working on something for next weekend! Hopefully I can make it work and if it does it will be something new for ePZ I think as I can't remember ever seeing what I have in mind loaded on here before. I like to create some tension.

Since I get so many PMs about this, can I point people initially at this website. It explains a lot of the basics, most importantly that it is the background that you are lighting either from behind through some diffusing material, or by reflecting off some coloured card behind the water. Strobist guide

It really is important to perfect your lighting on a basic single drop before considering how to get a collision. There are many, many ways to achieve this, some very ad-hoc, some less so. It depends how much time, effort and money you want to indulge. For me this has become an obsession. An enjoyable one, and so I indulge the ideas I have with various props. I have various containers and methods for suspending the water drop mechanism, gradually refining them over time.

Hope the link helps some others, but don't blame me that it can become obsessive!
