a statue

a statue by IAN05

Nicely taken but watch the horizon or the lines that tell you it level.
If your camera shows one use the in built level indicator unless you intend to have an image taken at an angle or tweak in post processing if needed.

tractor by IAN05

I see from the forums you want to know how to improve your images.

With this one the issue is composition;
the main subject is not fully in the picture, you have cut through one of the wheels.
the bit of the bin/skip and the front of the van/truck is a distraction.

If you move more to the right and composed including all of the tractor you will also have got the tree as the main background to your image rather than the people / houses.

However the main thing with photography IMHO is that you get out there and enjoy what you do, also any comments are just opinions of the viewer.

Great close up, Martin

Hi Martin, did take this shot with the top cut off or is it a later crop?

If a crop, would be interesting to see if you could clone out the top of the actual tower to match the reflection of its top in the puddle. Could use Gary's tutorial to replace the sky, assuming you have some clouds!

A long way down!

A long way down! by mz_at

This photo makes you want to see what is just down around the corner to the left, but, then you don't want to as it's a flipping long way down!! Great shot, takes some nerve to be up there to get it.

An unsual approach to frame the subject of 'life as seen by the bin', well done for trying something different.

I like this one, well done with the framing using the bushes and the tree.

Autumn Reds

Autumn Reds by mz_at

Shows the autumn colours well, with a good depth of field. Things are more rusty brown down here on the Isle of Wight.

Like the colours in the sky, leading you 'magically' towards the castle in the distance.

Hi Martin,

like the colours in the surf, however do agree the horizon needs tweaking.

Hi Martin,
Well spotted and shot, those G&Ts were a bit water down!
