Lovely close up shot. Very nice DOF. The only criticism I would have(and I'm no expert!) is that I would have cropped the bottom to remove that one blue bit in the bottom right corner. Even with that blue bit, its a lovely image. Smile

Youve done very well with this, especially in handling the natural "shininess" of the petals.

Composition is important in this type of shot, as your are focusing attention on one item in the frame. Try for example to place a piece of black card or cloth behind the flower to isolate. As you can see in this one, although the light is nicely subdued. the background is looking for some attention, especially as theres a vertical line running down from the flower.

In the mod Ive loaded heres what Ive done:

Replaced the background with black. This was done by painting in black at a low opacity until all the background was covered and no longer visible.

I cropped the shot to place the flower lower in the frame, and added some space to the left, cropping a little from the right. This improves placement of the flower, and removes some of the bright shots from the flower behind. I sightly darkened the flower behind, especially that small piece thats in focus, so its not competing for attention. Finally, a nice large plain frame enhances the presentation.

Hope you find this helpful,

Regards
