It's funny how so many male photographers seem to be interested in a thread for 'Lady'Photographers. Definitely something fishey!

    Excellent write up Matt.
The photos are superb. I think characterboats was looking for that lion up the tree, that we all heard roaring. Well, I do remember Pete implying there was one up there,..... or was it a panda?

Lisa, I've got at least 15 photographs of extremely blurry Coatis (dog like things with ring tails)that I took before my shy-nerves calmed down, my hands were shaking soo much. It was quite daunting having 30ish photographers there, some with massive lenses, but I soon found out that there was actually a great range of nerves, abilities and knowledge within the group, oh and cameras! I'm really glad I went as a lot of the names that flash up on the screen are now real people to me and lovely people at that. A smaller group definitely would have been less daunting, though.

PS Wish we'd met up beforehand - I could have done with the support too.

Thanks zippie and mattwaggie for arranging the day. It was great to meet such a nice bunch of people, thought you all were before I left yesterday morning but that was confirmed.

So you didn't manage to get any animal shots then Danny? I got one of you and Stevieb but,no evidence of the warbcam as you were shaking your hand rather rigourously - was that intentional me thinks?
Jeannie, glad you got back OK.

I've still got really sore feet.

    Jeanie,
I'm also having problems printing out the map, even visiting the Chester Zoo website, it doesn't let me print it. I suppose there'll be copies at the zoo?

  • Commented on 'Infra red transmitter verses other sync methods for studio lighting'

I have been using an infra red trigger (interfit) to set off 2 500 flash heads. I have taken about 300 shots with this method, and suddenly the set up failed. I've checked everything from batteries to flash cells, which still fire with the internal flash of my Nikon f50 (film SLR). I am wondering if I have a faulty transmitter.
Unfortunately I am wanting to use my Nikon Coolpix 5700(digital)with the lights tomorrow, but am finding that the inbuilt flash does not set off the flash. I have a synch cord that I have previously used with the f50 but am concerned about using it on the coolpix. Has anyone any suggestions for other sync methods with the Nikon Coolpix, before I fork out any more? Any advice very welcome. (PS this question may have been asked 1000s xs but search wasn't much help.Sorry if that's the case!)
