Were you using a tripod?

No, shame on me! But, really I think it's the settings I haven't got right yet.

Whatever equipment you are using, what stands out here is your arrangement and presentation. Makes a really good picture, Sandy.

The softness works very well and feels entirely appropriate. It looks lovely.

It's a lovely image, as though glimpsed through half-open eyelids. The softness is caressing, sensual. But if you looking for greater sharpness, ageing eyesight doesn't help. I have more or less given up on manual focusing.
Are you actually using it at F1.4? That isn't compulsory, and it will give better results I suspect from around F2.8.

I agree, at f1.4 there is so little depth of field that it's really hard to get the right bits sharp.
Very nice arrangement of objects and combinations of colours.

A very lovely still-life, Sandy Smile Maybe not as sharp as it could be, but the softness suits it very well Smile

Leo's video is GOOD music. I would trim the fast part at the end for regular listening yet there is real drama worth seeing / listening once or twice. TG
