These are bringing back memories of holidays in the Lake District. This is a particularly well composed capture of a beautiful scene.

Essence of Lakeland - a little stone bridge, a little stone cottage, an empty fellside.
Feel the rising damp!

Such a gentle composition that belies the often savage weather thereabouts.

Definitely Watendlath, Danny, then up over the hill into Borrowdale.. one of my favourite Lake Walks.

Yes it's the sound of the running water that makes me uncomfortable about this wee cottage.

The road has become a track by now and it's hoofing it again Danny.

I was there myself a few weeks ago - Watendlath is one of the quieter spots although not far from Keswick.
I found it really difficult to do the bridge justice but you've found the right spot - colours are really good - only better light would improve it.

This is the idyllic English countryside, just as I see it in my imagination.
The stonework is fabulous, I think that skill was brought across the sea since we have loads of stone walls in my area. Sadly most have fallen into disrepair or the forest has reclaimed them.

Comes to us all Danny..remembering!
a great landscape bet it's cold there in the thick of winter
Good angle Danny well composed, I like that tree in front of the white cottage really makes this capture tick.
