I'd not notice the bud until you pointed it out. I think your DOF is great, and your composition is really nice. The main subject - perfectly in focus.

Nicely sharp with good colour Danielle. My approach is I generally try to keep it singular in flower shots, if I do add more they're generally tightly composed and equal in DOF, meaning any one doesn't stand out from the rest. Either way it prevents the eye from scattering too much.
