My first flower attempt with my macro lens Smile Im very pleased with it the main problem was with blurring the edges near the bottom so they weren't ragged. I hope you enjoy.

Hello Danielle, A lovely image. Good colour and crop.
The blurring at the bottom may be DOF, I find somewhere around f10 ~ f11 works well.

I wanted the petals blurred but the background was a bit darker, when colouring it white the edges became ragged i think due to the magic want tool.

Love the detail on the flower, I am not sure what colour your BG was when you took it but instead of putting the colour on the BG in PS, you could try & use a white card behind the flower or any other colour you wish
hope this helps

Thanks everyone, Glynnis I had white card behind but for some reason it came out gray so i had to try and select it and change the colour. I tried to feather it and smooth it in the end i had to just lasso the edges and do a light gaussian blur.

Great image for a first attempt with your new macro lens and you know what they say 'practise makes perfect'. Keep at it as this is super composition
