emerging cranefly

this is an adult cranefly emerging from a log in a bluebell wood on helmeth hill near church stretton
in the shropshire hills. the wee bug was struggling to wriggle free for about half an hour before it finally
escaped to dy out its membranous wings ready for its 1st flight

Fantastic macro! I think I saw this in the 2010 BWPA book. Correct me if I am wrong.
