This one was in my garden last night,so I used flash.I still get a few every year but they are not so common.
If you are interested they often have ticks attached,,it was only when I magnified the image indoors that I could see at least three,around the head area.

A lovely capture of this very rotund hedgehog ... poor soul, I wonder if they can every get rid of those nasty ticks ... Carol

Lovely image, Ticks aren't really a problem for hedgehogs. But severe flea infestations
on young or very small ones can be bad news. Never be tempted to use flea powder on a
hedgehog, if for some reason there is a need to treat one use only poultry powder.

Thanks for the info,I did see a hoggy with bad lesions around its face earlier in the year.I thought it might be an infection where the tick fell off or perhaps they are suffering from a generic illness thats bumping them off.
