Swan Lake

By dathersmith
First one from an excellent shoot on Sunday with Raphaella, ironically this is one of the last I took on the day. Taken at one of my favourite jetties on Coniston Water just after the sun had gone down, using a long exposure for the silky water and flash to (try) and freeze any movement in Raph.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this one.

Darren.

I like it but it's a bit flat, tonally - it lacks a bit of punch to lift it.

Thanks for the comments folks and cheers for your UA Sarah, much appreciated.

Keith / Richard I know what you're saying but I was wanting a softer feel to this, I'll maybe revisit it though and see how it looks.

Lovely capture and presentation, Darren Smile Before reading others' comments, I too thought it could have done with a bit more contrast, but still a good 'un Wink

Darren,

Brilliant idea and a cracking mono conversion - very film like. Totally disagree with the comments re contrast, I think you've got it spot on and even a touch more would spoil the style / feel of the shot.

It's a shot that anyone (photographer or not) would look at at and wonder; what? where? how?

Ross
