Well, it started a half hour before sunset and as the sky was clearing I noticed a cirrus cloud formation. Got the camera into play and took a shot of the clouds.

....wondered if they would work in a gasseous creation.

Got it into PS and did the usual thing and came up with this.....

..... not too good, I'll give this one a miss.

As the light of the day diminished I closed the curtains and got the gear set up and broke the last remaining glowsticks then got to work trying to create something with a little difference. Added a little water to the inside of the balloon before adding the lightsticks. After inflating the balloon, gave it a shake and managed to get some drops of water to adhere to the side of the balloon. Placed the pre-formed orb into the frame and took a shot or two

..... pleased with this one.

The night wouldn't be complete without a shot of the latest phase of the moon.......

.... the sky was not totally clear for this.

All the shots were taken with my SX50 bridge camera....... what a versatile bit of kit. Enough for tonight ...phew!

39 of 52 - Part 3

Nothing seemed to go to plan today. After ideas came to mind last night and this morning it proved difficult to get the result I was hoping for. The lighting was not my main concern, the priority trying to produce a more lively "splash". Thought ...

Flash. A few days ago I had every intention of using two flash units alongside the splashart kit. I have both Canon and Sigma units that would be fired by wireless transmitter. When testing both flash guns only the canon would fire. On checking bo...

39 of 52 - Part 1

After a gruelling six days of experimenting with the splashart machine, Guar gum, flash and gels I finally managed to produce something worth looking at. Today saw me move into stage 2 ..... milk. Now this stuff has qualities all of its own. Tried wi...
