Finally got the urge to get out and buy some incense sticks to have a go at smoke trails after being inspired by Alisons remarkable smoke patterns.
I was inclined to get the 5D and 50mm lens on the tripod but decided to give the SX50 a chance and see if it could cope...... which it did......

..... not the quality of a full frame sensor, good enough for the blog though.

I'll wait until I become a little better before firing up the 5D.

I'll break out the 5D later on today and carry on. There's only one drawback....... the smell, frangipani, what ever that is.

The smell is over powering at times ..... the only thing missing was an old codger with a white beard sitting in the corner playing a citar. It's curry night tonight!
