Another fine day saw me packing the panniers with gear, a flask and sandwiches (pork and stuffing) then off on part two of my quest recording in images, a two mile stretch of the River Wansbeck. On the way there I took a shot of the church of St. John. Got married there in 1974.
Finally got to the first stop of the day at the site of Cambois Rowing Club
....... Could hear this old buggar cussing as he passed by. Miserable *******.
After a couple of more shots it was over the Stakeford road bridge
then to the railway bridge that was opened in 1906 to transport God knows how many tons of coal to the ports of Blyth and Tyne.
Time to make the return journey back to Ashington by way of climbing the notorious Blackclose Bank.
Near the top some nice blossom gleaming in the sunlight.
Once at the top I stopped for a coffee. Soon afterward I heard the clip clop of horses hooves and rushed to get the camera out of the bag. Managed to get a shot before the pony and trap rounded the corner.
...... That was it ....... back home
Of course as it was a clear night, I had to round the blog off with a shot of the moon in its latest phase......
Good forecast for the morn..... it's back for more images on the final part of this two mile stretch of the river.
